About

This blog is an attic study above the bustling streets of Byzantium. It’s a place to retreat, to reflect, and perhaps to see a little more clearly in a world full of noise, distraction, and competing demands.

Why Byzantium? Because it was a city of complexity, contradictions, and astonishing richness. Its streets were noisy, vibrant, full of intrigue, trade, passion, and humanity. Yet it was also walled, protected—a place where you had to choose what mattered most and defend it.

Each section here explores a different corner of this metaphorical city. There’s no single path, no rigid structure. Instead, the blog will grow organically—an open space for ideas, insights, and gentle provocations.

About me? I’m just someone seeking meaning over status, quiet over noise, wisdom over ego. Welcome to my Byzantium. Light a lantern and stay awhile.

Thanks, Nigel.
